EDI User Code List Tables

EDI User Code List Table maintenance allows the addition of User defined Code List Values for Elements that, according to the standard, have a restricted code list assigned.

When configuring an EDI Trading Partner Event, you may be asked to support a Code List value that does not conform to the EDI Standard being used. It is possible to add additional "User" values to the standard Code List Tables.

For example; You are sending EDI Messages to your Trading Partner using the EDIFACT standard, when you refer to Item Number Qualifier being sent (element 7143) it must comply with the supplied list (ie. BP=Buyers Part, SA=Suppliers Article, etc..) , but if you are asked to send  (or receive) a value in element 7143 that does not exist in the code list table then the message validation will fail. User Code List Table Values can be added, the following example demonstrates how the coded value "X1" can be added to the code list for element 7143:

EDI Trading Partner Event - User Code List Table Maintenance

Element Id 7143
Code List Value X1
Description Customer Specific Item Qualifier

This example uses the EDIFACT Item Number Qualifier Element, with Id 7143. It is important to understand that adding Code List Table Values changes the EDI Standard.

The ECS/EDI Processor will automatically add the User Code List Table to the standard Code List Table when validating Inbound or Outbound messages.

To configure an EDI User Code List Table Value, perform the following:
